Current Layouts

NSRMA’s layouts are built to exhibition standard and operated with prototypical realism. Representing significant eras of New South Wales railway history, each layout combines detailed scenery, accurate rolling stock and advanced control systems.

Blue Mountains

Modelled in HO scale, Blue Mountains represents the steep western line from Sydney during the final years of steam (1950–1957). Featuring double-headed 57 and 58 Class coal trains and 38 Class passenger workings, it showcases complex prototypical operations. Click on an image to enlarge.

New Layout

The committee has approved a proposal for the construction of a OO9 layout. OO9 is often used to model narrow gauge railways.The aim is to construct a small layout that is easy to transport and applicable for smaller exhibitions or as an alternative to Blue Mountains.
